Nestled within Khok Salung Subdistrict, the Thai Beung Cultural Community stands as a venerable settlement of the ethnic groups of Thai Beung people, also known as Thai Deung or Thai Khorat. Resettled from the Korat Plateau and Lao People's Democratic Republic, they made their home in the Pasak River Basin, Phanat Nikhom District.
As the area developed, it transformed into a prominent cultural tourism destination, shaped by the Pasak River Basin Development Project initiated by royal initiative and a commitment to preserving traditional ways of life, including language, beliefs, attire, and cuisine.
The community boasts several captivating attractions;
- Thai Beung Village Museum, a meticulously crafted replica village showcasing various aspects of daily life and serving as an educational hub for visitors interested in the authentic Thai Beung lifestyle.
- Wat Khok Salung (Wat Khok Samran) Adjacent to the Pasak Chonlasit Dam's water barrier lies Wat Khok Salung, a spiritual temple for the local Thai Beung community and a vantage point offering breathtaking views of the dam and surrounding landscape.
- Khok Salung Railway Station serves as a convenient stop for local train services along the Bua Yai Junction-Kaeng Khoi route, providing visitors with access to the stunning vistas of Pasak Chonlasit Dam.
