Rai Chanika is one of the oldest and largest plantatiosn of sweet tamarind in Phetchabun. There are several of tall tamarind trees there.
Phetchabun Province has a tamarind as a national tree for its province. It is not surprising that when you visit Phetchabun, you will taste the famous sweet tamarind. Phetchabun is Thailand's sweet tamarind source and the most cultivated areas are Amphoe Lom Kao, Amphoe Lom Sak and Amphoe Mueang. The sweet tamarind is the original of Phetchabun that have the same species as ten thousand breed. Later on, there are people interested in breeding. The breeding of the thousand varieties to become a variety of tamarind such as gold, honey, sri chomphu, etc. For the Rai Chanika, it is one of the oldest and largest tamarind farm in Phetchabun.
