Ban La Up is the biggest community of Lawa ethnic group in Thailand. The outstanding OTOP products of Ban La Up are Lawa hand woven fabric, silverwares, and coffee beans. There is also the homestay service provided for tourists to stay overnight and learn about the way of life of Lawa people.
Ban La Up Community was promoted from Amphoe Mae La Noi, Mae Hong Son Community Development Office to be the Tourism Community of Mae Hong Sorn province. Interesting tourism activities include tasting the local foods cooked in Lawa style, learning about Lawa cultural such as Ghost Feeding Ceremony, seeing the demonstration of handmade handicrafts by silverware making group, Lawa hand weaving fabric group, Ban La Up coffee making group, buying OTOP products and visiting Ban La Up homestay group.
