✨ Wat Kongkaram, Ratchaburi ✨
Originally named “Wat Klang” (in Mon language, “Phia To,” meaning “Middle Temple”), Wat Kongkaram is an ancient temple built during the early Rattanakosin era by the Mon people. They settled along the Mae Klong River in Ban Pong and Photharam districts, forming a large ‘Mon’ community and building this temple as a spiritual center. The abbot here holds the title of Phra Kru Raman Yathibodi.

This temple is famous for its over 250-year-old murals created by skilled artists. The paintings, made from natural colors derived from tree bark and flowers, may have faded over time, but their beauty and craftsmanship remain clear.
