    Overstand Coffee Shop

Overstand Coffee Shop – big breakfast + coffee One of the best places to eat a Western-style breakfast in the Old City, Overstand is only open until 3:30 in the afternoon so go get your bread fix early! Dishes focus on fresh, local ingredients and the cafe also works with other local businesses and artists to create not only an excellent restaurant but real community – one of my favorite things about Chiang Mai!

    graph cafe

Graph Café – specialty coffee  I adore the tiny Graph Cafe tucked away in the Old City – every cup of coffee I’ve had has been filled with creamy goodness and I love how the couple running the shop, along with the nearby Graph Table, are completely owning their product and brand. They also make a selection of inventive specialty drinks, like their “Monochrome” made with espresso, activated charcoal, vanilla and milk, and offer nitro cold brew coffee on tap.

    Monsoon Tea

Monsoon Tea – wild and free-grown tea from northern Thailand Give me a choice and 9.9 times out of 10 I'll choose coffee over tea, but Monsoon Tea is something special. I love the airy, retro feeling space along with the unique presentation of tea with a handful of cookies. Monsoon Tea specializes in offering wild and free-grown teas that come from the hills of northern Thailand and complements its wide selection of brews with a unique menu of both Lanna (northern Thai) and original recipes that often feature tea leaves.

Clay Studio Coffee in the Garden

Clay Studio Coffee in the Garden – linger in the terracotta garden with a good book Clay Studio Coffee in the Garden is also often known as the “terracotta garden” and is part of a terracotta studio that creates all types of statues and pottery. The garden is filled with both broken and completed pieces of intricately carved and molded terracotta. As soon as you step through the doorway into the walled garden space, you feel like you’ve walked into another world…or an Indiana Jones movie. There’s a glass coffeehouse serving drinks and food with tables both inside and throughout the garden.
