Sea Life: The amazing underwater world

Known as the largest aquarium in Southeast Asia, Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World can amaze people of all ages.

Located two floors under the Siam Paragon in the heart of Bangkok, the aquatic wonderland covers about 10,000 square meters or almost two football fields. It is home to hundreds of species with countless number of creatures from around the world. Among them are the giant tawny nurse shark with four meters long, Atlantic wolfish and Arapaima, the largest freshwater fish from Amazon rainforest.

One of the highlights is the 270-degree tunnel where you can have a closer look at schools of fish, colorful coral reefs and some of ocean predators like various types of sharks and stingrays. You will feel like walking on a seabed. Another wow-section is the “Shark Walk” where you can see many sharks like blacktip reef shark, sand tiger shark and leopard shark swimming under your feet.

If you like adventure, you can dive in the tank along with trainers and those large fish. You can also try feeding sharks from a glass bottom boat. Apart from fish, there are other sea creatures including long-tailed Gentoo Penguins from Antarctica, jackass penguins from Africa, otters, strange octopus, hermit crabs, seahorses, clownfish and humphead wrasse. You can also experience a 4D movie, the first of a kind in Bangkok.

Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World will give you a memorable experience and a fun trip weather you will be there by yourself or with family members and friends.

How to get there: The most convenient way is to take BTS skytrain and get off at Siam station. The aquarium is open daily from 10am to 9pm. For more information, visit www.sealifebangkok.com/en.
