Chokchai Farm : The real ranch vacation

The Real Ranch Vacation

At Chokchai Farm in Pak Chong district in Nakhon Ratchasima, weekend goers are eager to spend their time to get a glimpse of cowboy experience.

Known as one of the largest ranches in Southeast Asia, the farm stretches out more than an 8,000 acre site. It has numerous action-packed activities. You can have a hands-on experience on milking baby calves with bottles of milk (and do not blink because the calf will finish the milk real fast.).

Various shows will entertain you, including horse riding, an in-door cowboy performance and a cute show of herding dogs. There are also outdoor activities for you and your kids to try such as joining carnival games like balloon darts, hooping a toy and shooting games with an air gun. You can tour the farm with an all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) or by taking e-tan farm truck or a horse carriage.

Several entertaining workshops are available here. You can learn to make its tasty and creamy Umm!.Milk-brand ice cream and have a chance to take those desserts back home or book for a horse riding class with professional trainers.

If you want to rest your legs and fill up your stomach, go straight to Chockchai Steakhut and Chockchai Steakburger for premium quality beef. The restaurants also provide other choices of meat like chicken and fish.

If a one-day trip is not enough, book for an air-conditioned tent to stay in the farm is probably a good idea. Pitched in one zone of a 250-rai of forest land, each of 64 large tents (6m x 2m) has facilities like a hotel room including wi-fi connection. Like other campsites, you have to share bathrooms and toilets, which are segmented for male and female visitors.

Chockchai Farm (www.farmchokchai.com) is open daily from 10am to 7.30pm. The two-hour farm tour is organized every day except Monday. The service fees are 300 baht for adult and 150 baht for kid.

How to get there: The farm is located on Highway 2 (Mittraphap Road).
