Attraction Details

In front of Lampaya Temple and on the Tha Chin River, the floating market was communally initiated by Tambon Lampaya Cultural Council and Lampaya temple. Here is a centre of fruits and vegetables as well as agricultural products trading like rattan ware, woven cotton, dyed cotton, and affordable local food.

            Local food that goes from noodles with beef, Thai desserts, to steamed curried fish patty, are sold by local vendors literally on their boats. Fish market is in front of the temple offering various kinds of fish including iridescent sharks, black ear, and giant gourami.

            For sightseeing, cruise services along Tha Chin River are also available. Several types of boats cater to the needs of the visitors, which includes:

            Ancient rowing-boat: cruising along Tha Chin River: leaving Wat Lampaya then paying homage to Chao Mae Thabthim Shrine, the most revered shrine of Tambon Lampaya.  The trip takes around 30 minutes and costs B20/person;

            Towed boat: a round-trip along Tha Chin River: departing from Wat Lampaya to Wat Sukvatanaram. Fish feeding is welcome in front of Wat Lampaya.  The trip costs B50/adult and B20/child.

            Passenger boat : leaving from Wat Lampaya to Wat Bang Phra (Wat Luangpu Pern). The trip takes two and a half hours. An adult fee is 50 baht, and 20 baht for a child.

Admission: Ranges from B20-50 for cruising service.
