Attraction Details

A 22-line stone inscription written in Thai Noi characters recording the royal command of King Photiworawasa Rajathiraj to renovate the temple and craft the inscription is the significant archeological evidence showing that Loei is an ancient town with a long-run history. The inscription is now stored at Loei Cultural Centre in Rajabhat University. Wat Huai Hao temple itself is also worth a visit in May as it’s the only place in Thailand that celebrates Songkran (new year) festival during that period, according to their traditional belief.
