Amphoe Somdet, Kalasin
This magnificent cliff is located on the Phu Phan mountain range and was once called Pha Rang Raeng. In 1954, Their Majesties the King and the Queen visited the cliff and lunched at the location; as a result, its name was changed to Sawoei, which means “to dine” in Thailand’s royal language. As it is located deep in the valley with a high cliff, locals also called it Heo Ham Hot (or Ham Hot Ravine). It is a beautiful sightseeing and relaxation spot for visitors.
Pha Sawoei is located in Ban Kaeng Ka-am, Tambon Pha Sawoei. It is 17 kilometers from Somdet district, and about 58 kilometers from Kalasin along the Somdet -SakonNakhon route on Highway No. 213, at Km 101-102.
