Attraction Details

This hill is a large natural rock formation that includes two ponds containing water believed to be holy. The water was used in the coronation of several Thai and Malay rulers. On top of Khao Ruesi is Wat Khao Ruesi Plaeng San, a Buddhist temple that attracts Buddhists from throughout Pattani and nearby provinces. 

To visit the hill and temple, take Highway 4106 southeast from Pattani town for about 14 kilometers. At the intersection with Highway 4061, turn left and head southeast for 16 kilometers to Mayo District town. The hill is at Mu 2 of Tambon Mayo, about 3 kilometers from Mayo town.
