Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park is one of Thailand’s national parks which reflects beautiful natural resources.  There are rain forest, beach forest, and mangrove forest, and also mountains such as Khao Lak, Khao Lam Ru, Khao Saeng Thong, Khao Mai Kaew, and Khao Plai Bang To.  The highest peak is about 1,077 meters at sea level.  The mountains are the origin of main rivers in Phang Nga – Ta Gua Pa River and Phang Nga River and other small rivers.  The national park area borders the sea, so there are a variety of ecosystem – stone beach, sand beach, and coral reefs.


Interesting places

Ton Chong Fa Waterfall : a big waterfall of the 200-meter mountain.  The best time to visit is during December – January.  There is also a nature trail for visitors.


Hat Khao Lak : a sandy beach with stunning view where you can go relaxing and swimming.  The beach is the location of Khao Lak- Lam Ru Natinal Park.


Hat Lek : a beach which is 1.4 km far from the national park office.  There are beautiful viewpoints and coral reef beach.


Lam Ru Waterfall : a 5-tier waterfall


Phrao Waterfall and Hin Lad Waterfall : 2 waterfalls that originate from Plai Bang To Canal.

There are guesthouses, campsites, and shops in the national park.



By car

From Bangkok, take the Highway No.4, Phetkasaem Road.  Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park is 50 meters far from the road with Phor Ta Khao Lak Shrine which is the most sacred shrine in this area and the landmark to the national park.


By bus

There are many buses from Bangkok to Phuket or Bangkok to Ta Gua Pa at the Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal.


By plane

After arriving Phuket International Airport, take a bus to Khao Lak-Lum Ru National Park which is running on Phetkasaem Road to Thai Mueang district.
