Attraction Details

Probably the only authentic lanna (Northern Thai) architecture in Bangkok and one of the best-preserved ones in Thailand, Kamthieng House or Ruen Kamthieng was once a property of a Chiang Mai’s noble family whose ancestors built the house in Chiang Mai in 1848. Donated to The Siam Society by Ms. Kinhaw Nimmanahaeminda, Asia Foundation funded the relocation to to Bangkok in 1964. Today, Kamtieng House displays ancient artifacts and Buddhist sculptures as well as hand-woven fabrics from different tribes, wood crafts and music instruments.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday (except public holidays) 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Admission fee: 100 baht for adults, 50 baht for children
