Attraction Details

This village is famed for its beautiful coconut husk crafts, now nicknamed “The Million Baht Coconut Husk Village”. The community leader, Plum Chukhong, pioneered the idea of teaching villagers to craft products from locally-sourced coconut husks. Products include kitchenware, household items and decorations. Eventually, over 100 households joined the handicraft industry and later received support from the Industrial Promotion Department.

The most popular handicrafts at the village are spoons, coffee cups, mugs, ladles, plates, bowls, lamps, and other decorations. They are sold domestically and to 16 countries worldwide.

Ban Khok Wua is located in Tambon Chai Buri, and is about 6 kilometers from the city on the road from Sai Yuan intersection.

Visitors interested in seeing demonstrations and buying products can contact Plum Chukhong, No. 42, Mu 1, Ban Khok Wua, Tambon Chai Buri, or call 08 1465 5751. The village is open daily from 8.00 am-5.00 pm.
