Attraction Details

Doi Inthanon is a popular tourist attraction in Chiang Mai Province, with its all-year-round cool weather and spectacular views and atmosphere that draw attention of tourists from across the world. Rising 2,565 meters above sea level, Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand. Doi Inthanon National Park has lots of amazing variation in its lush geography and forest. It is home to rainforest, mixed forest, and pine forest. The weather is cool throughout the year, especially in the cool season when there will be almost constant fog coverage all day and a stunning phenomenon of Mae Kha Ning or frost flower in the early morning.   Doi Inthanon travel guide There are many interesting things to do in Doi Inthanon, which include: Pay homage to Phramahathat Napamathanidol and Phramahathat Napaphol Bhumisiri (the Great Holy Relics Pagodas), which is not only a location of a beautiful flower garden but also another great point to have a glimpse of the sea of mist. Savor the beauty of mystical morning winter mist at a viewpoint in front of Kew Mae Pan nature trail. Enjoy the Mae Klang, Wachirathan, Siriphum, and Mae Ya Waterfalls. See various blooming flowers in winter, with the wild Himalayan cherry blossoms as the most famous. Explore Kew Mae Pan and Ang Ka nature trails. Observe Mae Klang Luang Rice Terraces, which will appear green in the rainy season and turn golden when the harvesting period comes in the cool season. Participate in bird watching, with over 380 species of birds there. Visit Doi Inthanon Royal Project, a highland farming research center. Doi Inthanon has a small local market for you to buy local goods, perhaps a souvenir or some local processed fruit.
