Khao Yai-Kaeng Krachan (5 days / 4 nights) A remarkable and unexpected recent discovery of a population of the Ratchet-tailed Treepie, previously known present only in northern Vietnam, Laos and southern China, by Pinit Saengkaew and other members of the Bird Conservation Society of Thailand makes Kaeng Krachan a most exciting birding site in Thailand.

Day by Day Itinerary :
Date 1 : Bangkok - Khao Yai National Park
The trips begin when we leave Bangkok in the morning. During our drive we will stop and spend time birding at some roadside locations off the highway. The area is mostly spreading with grassland and shrubs and is a good habitat for open-country birds. Late afternoon birding at Khao Yai.

Date 2 : Khao Yai National Park - Khao Yai National Park
We will spend a full day birding on Khao Yai.

Date 3 : Khao Yai National Park - Kaeng Krachan National Park
The whole day will be devoted for the journey from Khao Yai to Kaeng Krachan. We will stop at some paddy fields en route it time permits to look for some field birds and will reach Kaeng Krachan in the evening. There are some interesting birds around the reservoir near the park headquarters.

Date 4 : Kaeng Krachan National Park - Kaeng Krachan National Park
We will drive up into the dense forest and have a full day birding.

Date 5 : Kaeng Krachan National Park - Bangkok
We will spend another half day in the forest to search for the remarkable Ratchet-tailed Treepie before leaving Kaeng Krachan for Bangkok and transfer to your hotel where the trip concludes.
