Definitely, the scenery of two border towns in the enchanting west Thailand with their distinctive spells marks one of the most charming characteristics of Kanchanaburi. Riding on the elephant back in the woodland, bamboo rafting on the mighty River Kwai and Bullock-cart ride can be a wonderful adventure experience that you may never forget. Boat trip on the lake also offers you a dramatic view of the exotic hilly borderland –home to Three Pagodas Pass and Thailand’s most famous Wooden Bridge. Discover some cultural practices and traditional beliefs during a welcome ceremony at ethnic Karen village. Ultimately enjoy tranquility while staying in the mountain valley of legendary highland Pilok in the westernmost of Thailand. Added to this nature and culture oriented trip is a remarkable site visit to WWII related Hellfire Pass and the POW’s discovered natural hot spa. Come explore the land where mountains and forests are still alive.

Day by Day Itinerary :
Date 1 : Kanjanaburi - Kanjanaburi
(Elephant riding, bamboo rafting, Hellfire Pass memorial, Three Pagodas Pass, Thailand’s longest Wooden Bridge, overnight stay at Ponnatee Resort in Sangklaburi)(L,D)
Pick up by car from Kanchanaburi
Start an advantage day with elephant riding and bamboo rifting on the River Kwai.
Proceed to the world famous Hellfire Pass
Visit Hellfire Pass Memorial. Take a walk downhill for site visit to glimpse the Death Railways remnants and the infamous ‘cutting site’, the namesake of Hellfire Pass, hidden in the bamboo dominant mountain of the river Kwai valley
Continue further north to the uniquely scenic borderland of Sangklaburi. En route,
Lunch at restaurant.
Enjoy coffee break at Groeng Grawia Waterfall. Continue to Three Pagodas Pass.
Reach the pass. Time for photos. Some may find wooden items from Burma are attractive. Proceed to Sangklaburi town. Then enjoy a nice walk along the wooden Bridge on Khao Laem lake that provides a terrific view of Sangklaburi town and its landscape.
Check in at Ponnatee Resort. Leisure.

Date 2 : Kanjanaburi - Kanjanaburi

After breakfast set off a journey to Karen village.
Experience an ox-cart ride to a local village for traditional welcome ceremony.
A visit to Wat Wangwiwekaram (Mon Temple). Lunch at local restaurant
Return to Ponnatee Resort, time for showers. Check out and enjoy a leisure boat trip on the magnificent Khao Laem Lake to the floating villages in a scenic location, 15 kms from the town. On the way, make a brief stop at the sunken temple (if the water level is not so high that the temple remnants get entirely flooded)
Pick up by car and continue further down to Thong Papoom district.
Stop at local market in Thong Papoom for shopping of some fruits and stuff if desired. Continue to highland Pilok in the mountainous area. The mountain and forest scenery along the road is very impressive.
Reach Pilok and proceed to the accommodation (either inside the national park or at the family-run bamboo lodge in Pilok valley. Subject to changes without prior notice due to practices reasons).
Reach the accommodation in a very nice setting. Relax and leisure.
Overnight stay: a very basic but nice guesthouse of the nation park with twin bedrooms, private shower and western styled restrooms (4 treehouses, 10 wooden bungalows, both equipped with mattresses directly on the floor, with limited electricity run until 9-10 p.m. )
Date 3 : Kanjanaburi - Kanjanaburi
(Thai-Burma border, Pilok village & waterfall, Hindad natural hot spring) (ABF, L, D)
After breakfast, start a journey to the westernmost of Thailand.
Continue to the lookout post between Thailand and Burma providing a magnificent
view of the mountain ranges that keep the two countries apart. Then sightseeing
and walk around the legendary former mining village still hidden from the eye of
routine travelers for decades.
Proceed to a non-touristy but stunning beautiful waterfall and enjoy swimming in its
turquoise-coloured pool with ultimate privacy.
Enjoy packed lunch by the fall.
Return to Kanchanaburi town
En route, enjoy a natural spa while bathing in a mineral water of Hindad Hot Spring.
Proceed to Kanchanaburi town.
