Mountaintop Resorts
Up high in Thailand’s mist-covered mountains are several luxury resorts. These offer the chance to wake up in complete stillness and listen to nature before embarking on a day of discovery.
In the north-eastern region, which is famed for its agriculture and unique culture, there sits Kirimaya, a resort that allows guests to get up close to wildlife, wander along nature trails or enjoy its 18-hole golf course, which was designed by Jack Nicklaus. Set close to Khao Yai National Park and its dense forests, the resort is of spectacular quality.
Elsewhere, in the western province of Kanchanaburi, is the country’s largest area of forest, jungle and grasslands. It’s a great area to go trekking and exploring, before returning to a resort that is tucked away from the rest of the world. Close to the mountain ranges are memorials to those who died during the Japanese occupation in World War Two.
