Museum & Educational Places

Museums, libraries, and other educational places can be great places to take the family in between adventures in Thailand. The kids might not be overly excited about this idea at first, but given the variety of places available, they’ll quickly change their mind.

The logical place to start is the National Museum, which will give everyone an excellent overview of the great sweep of Thai history, religion, art, and culture.  After that, it’s the kids turn to have some fun at the Bangkok Children’s Discovery Museum, where it’s hands-on learning all the way.Kids are encouraged to interact with the exhibits, to learn how things work, from the mind and body to a car suspended in midair.

Other museums you may wish to visit include the Bank of Thailand Museum, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, and even the Museum of Counterfeit Goods.  Further afield, there are fantastic aquariums in Phuket and Chiang Mai, and the Opium Museum in Chiang Rai Province, in the heart of the Golden Triangle, along with those listed below.
