Budget Airlines
Now everyone can fly! Well, maybe not everyone, but even those travelers with the most limited budgets can find deals if they’re savvy enough, look and book early, and keep their eyes open.In some cases, you’ll find budget airlines offering fares you can hardly believe, sometimes on par with trains or even buses.
There are three major Thai-based budget airlines at this time:Thai Air Asia, a joint venture between Malaysian AirAsia and Thailand’s Asia Aviation, it is the only airline offering both domestic and international flights from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport; Nok Air (nok means “bird” in Thai), minority-owned by Thailand’s national carrier Thai Airways, and based in the old Bangkok Don Muang Airport; and thirdly, One-Two-GO Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of Orient Thai Airlines, which has several domestic and international routes – and a colorful history.
