Only a few kilometers down the road from the baby elephant centre, this market sells a huge variety of forest products (both flora and fauna). Arrive in the early morning to secure your live water beetles, crispy larvae and eviscerated lizards. Vegetarians will appreciate the extensive fungi selection, while beef lovers can select their cow placentas with the locals.  Apart from the core 'weird beast eats' section, the market is fairly tourist with curio shops on the fringe. For the unadventurous, there is grilled chicken and sticky rice as well as curry stalls. The market is not really worth a special mission but is open from 5.00 am to noon. To get there take a Chiang Mai bound bus from Lampang bus station for Bt20.
