To celebrate Her Majesty the Queen of Thailand’s birthday Thailand celebrates both the queen and their own mothers, as the day also marks National Mother’s day. Thai’s celebrate by performing alms-giving ceremonies at temples in the morning, which in Bangkok is followed by a huge festival of music and culture at Sanam Luang. Along nearby Ratchadamnoen Avenue are beautiful decorations and images of the Queen of Thailand.
In celebration of HM the Queen, public buildings are elaborately decorated with lights and flags of the kingdom and the royal family, images of the Queen are prominently displayed in peoples’ homes and places of business, and Thais frequently participate in acts of charity to make merit.
