Jet skiing, Water skiing

Thailand’s beaches and islands are top attractions and nearly all beaches feature numerous activities. At the more popular beaches, including Pattaya and those on Phuket and Koh Samui it is possible to hire jet skis and go water skiing.

While it should be advised that there are few rules regulating the rental and operation of jet skis, operators that rent them are concerned about their water craft and will provide some brief instruction to ensure that the vehicles are operated properly. However, once aboard the speed and power of a jet ski is an amazing experience, likely to make you forget you even spoke to someone just before pulling back on the throttle. That said, it is particularly important to beware of shallow rocks and reefs, which are frequent around Thailand’s islands and of course swimmers who could be seriously injured by a collision with a large, powerful watercraft.

While water skiing is less frequently found activity it can generally be arranged at more popular beaches, such as Patong beach on Phuket. More popular, and found on almost every beach in Thailand is Banana Boat riding, an activity that is exciting for the whole family. A Banana Boat is a large inflatable tube that several people straddle and cling too while being pulled around the sea by a high powered speedboat. Bouncing along in a straight line is a hilariously fun time though few are able to stay aboard when the boat make a sharp turn and the passengers are dumped into the sea!

Where to Run
The best place to exercise in Bangkok is Lumpini Park, and the best time is early morning. From 5 am til around 9 am each morning the park is filled with local residents exercising and enjoying the beauty of the park. There are large groups in different areas of the park doing martial arts and other classes that will welcome you into their exercise session, including a huge outdoor aerobics class that begins at 6 am. Joggers and runners will enjoy the 2.5 mile course that winds through the park, circling scenic lakes that house local giant water monitor lizards.
