During this time, local residents of Chinese ancestry strictly observe a 10-day vegetarian or vegan diet for the purposes of spiritual cleansing and merit-making.It is believed that the vegetarian festival and its accompanying sacred rituals bestow good fortune upon those who religiously observe this rite. Her collections inspired by different seasons of the year have been presented in the London Fashion Week and various other international fashion events.</p> <p>Thai silk with regional identities will be selected from 5 sources; namely,</p> <p>- Ban PhonPhraeWa Silk, Amphoe Kham Muang, Kalasin Province, featuring the Phu Thai&rsquo;s hand-woven silk out of local wisdom plus specific techniquesinto intricately embellished patterns, which has become known as the &ldquo;Queen of Silk&rdquo;.</p> <p>- ChonnabotMudmiSilk, AmphoeChonnabot, KhonKaen Province, featuring the elaborate beauty of old Mudmipatterns and traditional tie-dye techniques that contribute to the fabric&rsquo;s tight and smooth texture. The charms ofthe Chonnabot&rsquo;sikat textile remain in its patterns, weaving techniques, and colours.</p> <p>- Golden Brocade Silk, Ban ThaSawang, Surin Province, featuring finely woven silk mixed with gold threads into complicated patterns, a splendid blend of court patterns and folk weaving techniques that has gained a worldwide reputation.</p> <p>- LamphunBrocade Silk, Lamphun Province,presenting an art of weaving with uniquely intricate floral and foliage patterns inspired by the surrounding nature; for example, DokPhikun, KlipLamduan, BaiThet, Met Mayom, and PhumKhao Bin, and sometimes applied into a composition with traditional Thai designs, depending on the designer&rsquo;s imagination.</p> <p>- MueangNakhon Brocade Silk, Amphoe Cha-uat, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, a folk textile with unique textures and typical brocade patterns of master craftsmanship accentuated by silver and gold threads.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>2.Thai Silk Exhibitioncomposing of 2 sections:</p> <p>- Thai silk from the selected 5 sources featuring textiles unique to each location exhibited together with local hand-crafted products from the SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Public Organisation) or SACICT. The exhibition aims at informing visitors of the wisdom and ability of the Thai people, who created the products, as well as tourism routes to visit the 5 silk production sites and nearby attractions in wishing to offer a Silk Road route in each region of the country.&nbsp;</p> <p>- Demonstration of silk weaving with unique identities and distinguishing characteristics from other silk production sites in Thailand; namely, Golden BrocadeSilk by the Chansoma Weaving Group, Ban ThaSawang, Surin Province, using a traditional 3-4 metres high loom operated by 4-5 weavers.
