PHUKET COMMUNITY ORGANIZES YOUTH CAMP PROGRAMME FOR LOCAL CHILDREN

PHUKET COMMUNITY ORGANIZES YOUTH CAMP PROGRAMME FOR LOCAL CHILDREN
April 24 – 26, 2007
At Club Andaman Beach Resort, Phuket

The Club Andaman Group
The Club Andaman Group is an advocate of sustainable tourism development and has for the past seven years contributed to community efforts to protect the natural environment and preserve the pleasant ambience. The hotel group has been actively involved in promoting natural resources and environmental conservation awareness among local youth.

This year, the hotel group which operates the Club Andaman Beach Resort and the Andaman Beach Suites will be hosting its 7th Youth Camp Programme on Environmental Conservation during April 24 – 26 in the lush tropical gardens of the Club Andaman Beach Resort.

Fifty students from four local schools in the Kamala Beach community and other nearby areas will participate in the youth camp programme which receives support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand Southern Region 4 Office, the Thap Lamu Naval Base, The Kathu Non-Formal Education centre and the Big C Super centre.

The programme aims to promote awareness and positive attitudes among young people in conserving and caring for local natural resources and environment for its sustainability. It is also a good opportunity for young participants to learn to be good hosts in a tourist resort island like their home here on the tropical island of Phuket.
