As the tourism industry is a key factor to initiate income and drive the country’s economy, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in conjunction with Thai Airways International PCL will boost Thailand’s tourism industry and increase the number of visitors to the country as part of the tourism recovery plan. The organizations will share the concept of tourism marketing in 2009 to operate the following important activities:

  • Invitation to visit Thailand Year 2009 Campaign; the opening ceremony is going to be held on the 8 October, 2008, at Plenary Hall 3, Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. The objective of the campaign is to encourage leisure and niche products such as ecotourism, youth tourism, MICE and Mekong Sub-region destinations.

In this occasion, the “Seven Amazing Wonders of Thailand” theme along with cultural activities will be presented.
  • Co-branding logo for the tourism promotional campaign

  • Co-marketing campaign at global key markets

  • The Thailand Invitation Mega Familiarization Trip is going to be held during 8-12 October 2008. More than 900 international participants including travel operators and media representatives are invited to join study trips in Thailand in order to experience products from the various categories. The travel itinerary for each participant will feature a total of 16 routes covering Northern Thailand and another 14 routes covering Northeastern Thailand and the Andaman. Please find more information about routing at www.tatnews.org.

The Thailand Invitation Fam Trip itinerary for each participant will feature specially selected tourism products and services that are likely to be of most relevance and greatest interest to individual consumers and travellers in their home country. Fam trip participants will also be attending the Chiang Mai and North Tourism Forum on 10 October.
