Traditional Thai Textile Exhibition Centre, Bangkok
Visitors will enjoy admiring the many splendid weaving techniques on display, which reflect the combination of ancient wisdom with modern, local innovations.

Situated in the area of Tuek Daeng, opposite Aphisek Dusit Throne Hall, the Centre was founded in order to conserve all various weaving traditions in Thailand, as well as to present knowledge to both Thais and foreigners about this beautiful cultural heritage.   Visitors will enjoy admiring the many splendid weaving techniques on display, which reflect the combination of ancient wisdom with modern, local innovations.

The Centre’s single-storey building is divided into 11 rooms.  The hall commemorating Queen Sirikit is in the front.  It displays a fabulous portrait of the Queen, painstakingly woven in cloth by some of the Kingdom’s leading art gurus.

In addition, each room showcases interesting information such as indigenous textiles from each of the 4 regions of Thailand, or the weaving culture and arts of various ethnic groups in the country.  Still other rooms display various intricate weaving procedures.  The beautiful textiles displayed at the Centre combine artwork and practicality in an uplifting blend which is sure to impress.  Visitors will be amazed by the technical perfection of the exhibits, which integrate physical displays with multi-media, resulting in well-organized and clear presentation of interesting information.
