Songkhla's Itinerary of Node, Na, Lay, Folkways on Sathing Phra Peninsular

Community Folkways on Sathing Phra Peninsular

The amazed land which used to be 2 islands and a natural phenomenon made them connected and became a peninsular that comprised of 4 districts in Songkhla Sathing Phra, Singha Nakhorn, Ranode, and Krasaesin. This peninsular located between the Gulf of Thailand and Songkhla Lake.

The itinerary of Node, Na, Lay covers the pilot areas in 3 Tambons of Amphoe Sathing Phra i.e. Tambon Tha Hin, Tambon Khukhut, and Tambon Khlong Ri. 

Folkway of Node 
The folkway regarding to Node or Palmyra palm comprises of climbing for harvest, chopping Node’s fruits, Node’s fruits in syrup, palm sugar chunk, liquid palm sugar, prosucts from Plamyra palm tress, and cultivaing Node.

Folkway of Na
Rice farming is a major occupation of the people on Sathing Phra Peninsular. Rice farming would be practiced in alternate with the occupation regarding to Palmyra palm. Some families do the rice farming after finish harvesting the Palmyra palm.

Folkway of Lay
The folkway of customary fishermen and preserved products such as producing bamboo fish traps, sourly preserved shrimps, dried fish, sweet-boiled fish, etc.

Experience another style of eco-tourism with native people of Sathing Phra, you will perceive about climbing Palmyra palm tree, producing palm sugar-sowing, plowing, planting, threshing rice- and fishing. 

Folkways of Node, Na, Lay is then an attraction for any tourist who wants to experience inherited local folk path of native communities and the way of sufficiency living.
