At the same time, it will open up a new perspective of Bangkok through 4D art, creating a new alternative of Bangkok’s tourism attraction. TAT projects an audience of 1.5 million people for this festival throughout its exhibition period, divided into 40% Thais and 60% foreigners.”

RSTA’s Marketing Communications Director Korakot Srivikorn said, “Ratchaprasong is widely recognized among visitors as the trailblazer of creative happenings. And to keep the district animated all year round with an enlivening feel of extraordinary events, our preparation for another major global event is currently underway. We have partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Nannapas Publisher Co., Ltd. and Bangkok Mass Transit System Pcl. (BTSC) to hold “ Living Arts Festival 2013 @Ratchaprasong” as the first-ever 4D street art festival in Thailand on 27 February - 10 March this year. The festival will be a sensational outdoor exhibition of 4D art that has previously kept people spellbound in a number of countries around the world, including UK, USA, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, the Netherlands, Mexico and Ukraine.”

Living Arts Festival 2013 @Ratchaprasongis an investment of more than 40 million baht to bring together 19 internationally renowned artists from across the world. Together, they will create their mesmerising arts under the theme of “The Street of Art The Street of FUN” right here in the Thai capital. Ten of them, who are award-winning veterans in 4D street painting and illusion painting, will create 4D street art on ten different areas of Ratchaprasong, a combined area of 106,000 square metres. Their canvases will be the front grounds of Gaysorn, the InterContinental Bangkok and Amarin Plaza, the front and lateral grounds of Erawan Bangkok Department Store, plus an unprecedented street art creation on the stretch of BTS Skywalk from Chidlom Station to the entrance to Zen. At this festival, general public will be able to appreciate street art more closely. Each creation will be measured 12 – 40 square metres to awe-inspire the audience with illusory effects of subtle colours and lines as if the viewers can really become part of these paintings. The artists will employ special techniques to render 4D effect on their art creations, which will greatly enhance viewers’ experience and appreciation of each piece.

Explained Yudh Wanitchanon, the advisor of Nannapas Publisher who initiated this festival, “In addition to 4D art creations, this festival will also feature a special exhibition called “Living Statue”.
