In the 1980s and 1990s, Bangkok underwent rapid modernization, growing to approximately ten million people, making this the only major city in a country of villages and small towns. Since the 1850s, Koh Samui has been visited by Chinese merchants sailing from Hainan Island in the South China Sea to trade coconuts and cotton, the island s two most profitable products. Koh Samui is still in some places an idyllic tropical retreat with fine sand beaches and simple living. In fact, many Western visitors are settling-in for their retirement on the island and talk of good real estate deals and vacation time-shares is the entire buzz. You can find whatever you might want on Samui, from rustic hideaways to luxury resorts to rocking nightlife.

Phuket is the largest island in Thailand regarded as a pearl of the Andaman Sea. There is abundance of luxurious resorts until budget guesthouses to suit different needs. The beaches are sandy soft white going along with crystal clear water which is suitable to snorkel and dive. No doubt, there were movies shooting in James Bond Island and Maya Bay. Moreover, beautiful architecture of Sino-Portuguese building attracks visitors to the city. For seafood lovers, you will not be disappointed.

Krabi a province on southern Thailand s Andaman coast is an almost otherworldly region of labyrinthine archipelagos where islands seem to erupt vertically out of the sea and secluded beaches are only accessible by colorfully adorned long tail boats. Krabi s myriad of bays and coves have sheltered pirates merchants and sea gypsies for thousands of years and archaeological evidence indicates that Krabi was originally inhabited as early as 25000-35000 years ago. With attractions including hot springs, a wildlife sanctuary, sea caves, flourishing coral reefs and exotic marine life, limestone cliffs that draw rock climbing enthusiasts from around the world, and national parks that include the island paradises of Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta, one could easily spend weeks in Krabi and leave yearning for more.
