Day by Day Itinerary :

Date 1 :

Day 1: 14 Novmber 13– Bangkok-Khao Kho mountain (-/L/D)

Leave Bangkok in the morning about 7.00am then drive to Khao Kho district located in Petchabun province in the lower northern region of Thailand. It takes about 420 kms far from Bangkok. Along the way you will have a chance to see beautiful sunflower blossom fields (Valid only cool season of Thailand, otherwise visit Phraputthabaht saraburi or Wat Muang at Singburi) which you can see one time a year. Stop for photos.

Drive to visit Srithep Historical Park where is an ancient town. Many architectural structures still remain indicative of its past prosperity during the 11th-18th Buddhist Centuries. It was once the centre of contact between the Dvaravati kingdom in the Central Plain basin and the Khmer kingdom in the Northeast. A twin-city, there were over one hundred ancient sites all built with bricks and laterite, most of which have crumbled. After best meal, it is a long drive up hill and see beautiful view along the way. You will arrive at the hotel on the top of Khao Kho mountain in the evening relax before dinner at a hotel.

Day 2:15Novmber 13- Khao Kho mountain - Phu Hin Rong Kla (B/L/D)

After breakfast, drive about 1.20 hours to Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park is a distinctive national park with a unique mixture of scenic attractions and historical sites. It was once the stage of armed conflicts between two extreme political ideologies.

Apart from natural attractions, the park offers opportunities to explore many of its historical sites that tell the story of national political conflicts. Because Phu Hin Rong Kla was the strategic headquarters of the Communist Party of Thailand (CPT)during 1967 to 1982, the area was declared as a red area by the Thai government. For nearly two decades, the site had become a strategic battlefield between the Royal Thai Army and the CPT.

There is also a trail leading to Lan Hin Pum, an area of jutting rocks that the CPT used as an air-raid shelter. From the spot, it is possible to see the remains of the CPT headquarters with a small museum displaying some CPT weapons and medical instruments. Follow another trail to Pha Chu Thong, the cliff where a red flag was raise when the CPT gained a victory. Back to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 3 :16 Novmber 13 - Phisanulok - Sukhothai (B/L/D)

After breakfast, drive to Phisanulok province in the morning, first visit the Wat Mahathat to see the Thai come to warship the Pha Phuttachinnarat, the most beautiful Buddha statue in Thailand . Visit Ja Thavi Folk Museum. This is definitely the place for those wishing to learn more about the Thai lifestyle. Step inside a group of Thai pavilions and explore a private collection of antique items representing Thai rural life. The museum was established by Sgt. Maj. Dr. Thavi Buranakhate, who is recognized as a leader in the area of sculpture and indigenous art preservation. He is renowned for his knowledge on Northern Thai folklore. In addition, he is the owner of a Buddha Casting Foundry located just opposite the museum.

The Folklore Museum received the Excellence in Tourism Award from the Tourism Authority of Thailand in 1998 and is located on Wisutkasat Road (Sanam Bin Road), approximately 5 kilometers from the town center. Then, drive to Sukhothai province. Stay in a hotel in Sukhothai.  Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner at the hotel.

Date 4 :

Day 4: 17 Novmber 13-  Loy Kratong Festival on a full moon day (B/L/D)

Wake up early morning, do Tak Bat  (offering food to the monk) with locals. Tak Bat is a part of the Thai culture and a good karma. This is the best time to learn and see how Thai making a merit and preserve their culture. We believe that making a merit is one way to go to heaven. Then, back to the hotel to have breakfast have a rest a bit before learn how to make a Kratong. Make your own Kratong to prepare tonight to flow along a river as Thai belief. Then drive to Sukhothai Historical Park to make a visit beautiful temples. Back to the hotel. Leisure time. In the evening, go to see light and sound presentation at Wat Mahathat. Then, flow your own illuminated kratong along the river. Thousands of candles and incent sticks are lit to thank the River goddess. Enjoy the festival. Back to the hotel. Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 5: 18 Novmber 13- Sukhothai - Bangkok - (B/-/-)

After breakfast, Transfer back to Bangkok.
