Wine & Spirits

The Thai wine industry is like a new bottle of red – it takes some time to mature. Nevertheless, there are many shops that know how much visitors love wine, such as Phuket-based Black Forest Distribution. It’s the exclusive importer of many leading brands. Also on the island is Wine and Taste, which does a fine job of importing wines from Australia, Italy, France, California, Spain and South Africa.

In Bangkok, Wine Connection has been selling imported wines for more than a decade and has 24 outlets in Thailand. Along with more than 500 varieties of wine, it also sells premium spirits and Belgian beers. For fine Californian wine, Bangkok-based Wine, Etc is a true specialist and expert knowledge about its range of products.

Thai spirits are generally cheap and potent, with Sangsom and Mehkhong being the most popular. For something a little more special, visit Whisky Priest@494 in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok. Along with its range of cigars, is a selection of fine and rare single malt whiskies.
