Given the level of beauty in much of Thailand, it’s no surprise that many bars choose to offer customers a bird’s eye view of their surroundings.

Roof top bars are increasingly trendy and a prime example is the Sky Bar, Lebua at State Tower in Bangkok. This distinct bar seems to hover over the 63^rd floor and is one of the world’s highest outdoor bars, giving incredible views over the capital and Chao Phraya River.

The famous backpacker street of Khao San Road isn’t all grunge – Gazebo is a Moroccan-style bar/club with fat cushions, shisha pipes and soft lighting. Down along Sukhumvit, Nest at Le Fenix Hotel is an open-air spot that is just as laid-back; the perfect place some pre-club drinks.

On Phuket’s Kalim Beach the White Box bar gives great views of Patong Bay and prouds itself on its range of innovative cocktails. It may not be high-rise, but it is high-octane and a lively place to spend an evening.
