Attraction Details :

This temple, formerly called WatKuti, is located on the bank of the Chao Phraya River, though this river too once went by another name: Prakamthong River. The temple is believed to have been constructed during the late Ayutthaya period, and only the ruins of the Ubosot (ordination hall), Chedi (stupa), and Wihan (image hall) remain.

The 4-by-8-meter Chinese-style Ubosot is covered in brick and plaster, and roofed with fired clay tiles. One particularly beautifuldecoration is the carving of an angel, palms pressed together, depicted above lotus motifs on the gables of the Ubosot.

The pediments in the front and back of the sanctuary are very dignified. They are similar to the one at Wat Salapoon, Ayuttaya, which was made of craved wood with the god holding lotus flowers pattern. However, the front pediment got a little blemish, while, the back pediment is still in a perfect condition. There are couples of seam stones enclosed the sanctuary which are the symbol of the royal temple. They were made of red sandstone and were presumably the art design from the reign of King Narai.

The temple is located at Ban Kuti, Mu 5, TambonBan It, AmphoeMueang, on the Asian Highway (Highway No. 32). To get there, from the Asian Highway, pass the turn-off to NakhonSawan province for 500 meters and turn right at a PTT gas station for approximately 30 meters.

The temple is open daily from 8.00 am-5.00 pm.
