Attraction Details :

The Kaeo Sawan Bandan Cave is a complex of caves located in Sangkhla Buri District, about one kilometre away from the Three Pagodas Pass, a Thailand-Myanmar border crossing. The complex encompasses a large area in a whole mountain. Also, it is divided into four connecting caves, i.e. the Badan Cave, the Morakot Cave, the Kaew Cave and the Sawan Bandan Cave, each of which has its own distinctive complicated features. They have fascinating stalactites in various shapes which, when reflecting lights, are glistening as if they were covered with glitter powder. Visitors are recommended to wear clothing and shoes that are appropriate for the cave environment. Also, you must be very careful. This is because in some of the cave rooms there are steep stones. In addition, in some rooms visitors have to crawl and go through narrow gap between stones. Furthermore, some caves are filled with water up to your knees. If you would like to visit every single cave, you will need at least six hours.

To get to the Kaeo Sawan Bandan Cave, use Sangkhla Buri-Three Pagodas Pass Road. About one kilometre before reaching the Three Pagodas Pass, turn right onto an unpaved road branching from the main highway with a small pavilion located nearby. Drive about 700 metres along the road before turning right. Then drive another 200 metres and you will reach a Buddhist monastery nearby which the complex of caves is situated. Visitors can ask monks for more information about visiting the caves.
