Attraction Details :
Prang Khaek Shrine or in short term “Prang Khaek” is situated on the intersection of Vichayen Road and Sura Songkram Road in Tha Hin Sub-District, Lopburi City. It is next to Phra Narai Racha Niwet. It is the oldest ancient site of Lopburi. It is assumed to be built in 15th century.
Prang Khaek consists of 3 brick pagodas without connection between each pagoda. Three pagodas are situated one by one from the north to the south and face the east. The pagoda at the middle is bigger than the others. Each pagoda has only one entrance. The other 3 doors were built for decoration only.
In the past, the shine was built of brick without cement and was assumed to be collapsed. In the era of Narai the Great, 3 pagodas were repaired with cement. Also 2 new buildings, a vihara in front of the shrine and a water tank in the south side, were constructed in Thai-Europe style.
Prang Khaek is one of the tourist attractions in Lopburi that you should not miss since it is easy to go and it is very near to other tourist attractions such as Phra Narai Racha Niwet, Prang Sam Yod, and Wat Phra Sri Mahathat. The shine is very beautiful and was surrounded by flower garden. Also you will experience one of Thailand’s charms; a shine is situated at the center of a civilized city.
