Attraction Details :

Phu Pha Man National Park was named after a mountain range located in the south of the park, which has a towering cliff in rectangular shape, resembling a large curtain. The area was previously a lush forest with abundant wildlife and plant species. But as a result of forest concession, the number of forest area and wild animals has quickly dropped. Phu Pha Man National Park covers the area of 218,750 Rai or approximately 350 square kilometers. The area consists of mostly limestone mountains alternating with piedmont plateaus with altitude of 200 – 800 meters.  Streams inside the park flowing from, Phu Kradueng National Park and Chern River in Khon Kaen, serve as the headwater of Nam Phong River. The soil in this area comprises of rich and sandy soil as well as stones.

There are mostly hill evergreen and mixed deciduous forests where abundant trees and plants grow, namely Burmese Rosewood, Makha, Thai crape myrtle, Hiang, Pluang, Iron Wood, Taeng, Rung, Phlai, Chun, wild ginger, Pek grass, rattan palm, wild orchids and Vetiver grass. Wild animals living in the park include serows, wild boar, barking deer, monkeys, Burmese hares, pangolins, porcupines, Bengal monitors, red junglefowls, various bird species and over 200 species of insects.
