Attraction Details :
This temple has an ancient Thai Lanna-style chapel, which houses the principal Buddha image, which is named Phra Lao Thep Nimit. Built in 1720, the Buddha image, depicted in a state of subduing Mara (demons), is decorated with gold leaves, and is considered the most beautiful Buddha image of the Northeast.
The art style mirrors Laotian art from Vientiane, which was influenced by the ancient Lanna civilization during the mid-10th-12th centuries. The Buddha image was probably built a while after such this period, as indicated by the face patterns, a higher flame over the head, and the designs of the lap and feet, which are similar to other artworks originating from the 13th-14th centuries.
The temple is situated on Highway No. 2134, 2 kilometers from Amphoe Phana.
