Attraction Details :

Pa Sak Jolasid Dam is situated in Baan Kaeng Sua Ten, Nong Bua Sub-District, Pattana Nikhom District, Lopburi Province. It is Thailand’s longest Homogeneous Earth Dam. It is 4,860 meters long. It was built under Pasak River Basin Royal Development Project according to the thought of His Majesty the King Bhumibol. Its objective is to solve the problem of flood in rainy season and drought in summer. The dam construction was over 5 years, from 2 December 1994 to 10 September 1999. The official opening ceremony was held on 25 November 1999.

Apart from collecting water, this dam is also one of significant the tourist attractions in Lopburi. The highlight activity here is sightseeing in a tram along the dam for about 10 kilometers. Visitors will feel the fresh breeze and see beautiful scenery of the dam. This activity is available only on weekends.

Moreover, there are many attraction points in the dam such as Chalerm Phrakiat Tower where visitors can go to the top and see the 360 degree scenery of Lopburi, Pa Sak Basin Museum which exhibits knowledge about nature and local culture, and Phra Buddha Ratana Manee Maha Bophit Jolasit Mongkol Chai (Luang Poo Yai Pa Sak), a giant white Buddha statue in the position of subduing Mara at the end of the dam.

Travelling: from Lopburi City, use Lopburi – Kok Toom – Patana Nikhom Route (the Public Highway No. 3017) for about 48 kilometers or take a public bus of lopburi – Wang Muang route which passes Pa Sak Jolasit Dam which departs from Lopburi Bus Terminal from 6 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

By Other

From Mueang Lop Buri, take the Lop Buri - Khok Tum – Phatthana Nikhom route (Highway No. 3017) for 48 kilometres. There is the Lop Buri – Wang Muang minibus, passing in front of Pa Sak Jolasid Dam. The bus leaves Lop Buri Bus Terminal from 6.00 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.
Additionally, during the end of the year, there is a special Bangkok - Pa Sak Jolasid round-trip train on Saturday-Sunday and public holidays.
