Attraction Details :
Naval Museum is located in Pak Nam sub-district, Muang district, Samut Prakan, opposite the Naval Academy on Sukhumvit Road.
The museum chronicles the history of the Royal Thai Navy and the important Naval battles, exhibiting miniature ships such as the Royal Barges which were used in the Royal Barge Processions, the Thai battleship models from Rattanakosin period until the present, the first and only submarine of the Royal Thai Navy and other weapons related to the navy. Visitors can enjoy the historical display and gain more knowledge at the same time.
The exhibitions are divided into outdoor exhibition, Building 1 and Building 2 as following;
The outdoor exhibition displays grand navy weapons. In front of the building, water car, diving boat and many more are shown around the area.
In the Building 1, at the ground floor, it is the exhibition for honoring Admiral Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, Prince of Chumphon, the Father of Royal Thai Navy. As for the second floor, Thai Navy uniforms are displayed.
As for the Building 2, it is divided into 3 exhibitions. The first exhibition displays from ancient warship models to weaponry including guns, torpedo bombs and etc. The second exhibition displays past naval battles, battleship models, ship parts and equipment of the marines. The third floor is a special exhibition showing the important events such as navy battle at Koh Chang, Frater East Asia War, the Battle of Baan Chumrark and many more.
To visit: from Bangna intersection to Samrong, continue for another 10 kilometers or take air-conditioned bus number 7, 8, 11, 25, 508, 511, 525 and 536. You can also take a bus number 25, 102 and 142.
