Chula Mani Temple is situated on the eastern banks of the Nan River approximately five kilometers from town. It is the oldest temple in Phitsanuliok, believed to be built before the Sukhothai kingdom. According to the history, King Borom Trai Lokanat, one of the great kings of the Ayutthaya Kingdom, ordered a construction of the main ordination hall and ordained as monks along with his 2,348 followers here in 1416. The temple’s pagoda is constructed with a Khmer style, which attracts archeological students and admirers to explore the beautiful and intricate swan designs.
