Ban Mani Phruek Security Development Project of Nan is an agro-tourism attraction where experimental agriculture projects happen. The plants in project are various such as Siao Khao or mountain ebony tree – Bauhinia variegate., the symbolic flower of the province, and Nang Phaya Suea Khrong – Prunus cerasoides D.Don. As this project is located on the Doi Phu Kha Mountain Range, there are Hmong and Lua hill-tribe villages inside the project. This place is also another interesting spot to see Chomphu Phu Kha, the trees that are famously found only in the province. There is transportation to its entrance, which is located 3-4 kilometers from theTouristInformationCenter, then walk further for 30 meters.
· Interesting Attractions within Ban Mani Phruek are as follows:
Tham Pha Phueng or Pha Phueng Cave It’s on the way to Mani Phruek 1 Village, just 1 kilometre from the Office of the Security Development Project (Pho Mo Pho) and 100 metres from the main road. The condition of the forest along the walking trail is still perfect as it is an evergreen forest, with a lot of Tao Rang – fishtail palms standing. After reaching the entrance of the cave which is 40 meters wide and 20 meters high, visitors have to descend for 25 meters to the cave floor. The first part of the cave is a 20-meter high spacious hall that is full of beautiful stalactites affected from water dropping from the ceiling creating stone layers, similar to the waterfall continuously running down. Though the distance of the deepest part is 400 metres but still has air for breathing as there is a small channel at the end of the cave. Underneath the channel, visitors are able to hear the sound of water running to the deeper part, creating a beautifully strange phenomenon. In the past, this cave was also a refuge for villagers during the fight of the army and insurgents. Its capacity is up to hundreds of people.
Doi Pha Phueng It’s situated in Mani Phruek 3 Village. It is a limestone mountain at 1,600-meter high above sea level. Its characteristics are similar to Doi Phu Wae, where visitors can enjoy the picturesque views of sunrise and sunset. The scenery on the top of the cliff includes views of Bo Kluea district as well as the ridge of Doi Phu Wae and Doi Cho. From the entrance, visitors have to walk for 30 minutes along the shoulders of the mountains amidst the beautiful nature.
Furthermore, at Phu Hua Lan Viewpoint Spot, various districts can be seen such as Chiang Klang, Thung Chang and Chaloem Phra Kiat districts. In the past, Tham Phu Hua Lan, located near the Operational Base, was also a habitation site of Thai soldiers.

To get to there:Take Highway1080 from Ban Na Nun. At Km. 77 - 78, turn right into the route toManiPhruekVillage. The road is periodical mixed with laterite road with the asphalt one curving along shoulders of the mountains. A four-wheeled-drive vehicle in good condition is recommended. It takes 2 hours for the trip.
