It was built in 1903 A.D. in the later period of King Rama V by Phra Phithak Chinnapracha (Tan Ma Sieng), son of Luang Bamrung Chinnaprathet (Tan Neow Yee). He was born inFujianprovince,China, and held the military title of “Boontek Chongkul”. Most of the furniture in the house was inherited from Chinese ancestors and other materials used were imported from foreign countries because trading betweenPenangand Phuket at that time flourished tremendously.
