While Thailand’s Gulf coast and Andaman coast both provide navigable waters, Phang Nga Bay, located just east of Phuket, is Thailand’s premier sailing destination. Sailing day trips out of Phuket include visits to floating villages and one of the bay’s top attractions, James Bond Island. For more serious sailors, there are lessons and private charters available for longer trips, including voyages to the Surin Islands and Koh Tarutao Marine National Park.
