During my last May visit to Bangkok, I decided to stay at Nakhon Pathom. My last visit to Bangkok was about 10 years ago and this year I want to make a difference instead of staying at the busy city of Bangkok, I stayed at Nakhon Pathom.
Nakhon Pathom is less busier than Bangkok even though it's about an hour drive. There are alot of tourist attraction as well and the thing I enjoy most is the food. The food there is much cheaper than those in the city especially pork related products.
The first place we visited when I stayed in Nakhon Pathom is the floating Market. Dumnoen Saduak as it is usually called by the Thais is about an hour drive. We left our home stay which is by the river side at about 7 am. I was told the activity there starts early and ends by noon.
Belive me, the very moment we reached the floating Market, I can't help but start taking photos and more photos. The whole place is so alive and colorful. The busy scene of people buying and selling with variety of products, from suvenirs to fruits, food and clothing. You name it, they have it. And the colors of the food and fruits makes you feel like tasting and eating all of them. We took the long boat ride, at the same time enjoing all kind of foods and shopping along the way, and my video camera help me to record the amazing scenery for rememberance. I hope you enjoy my attached youtube video. Saswadee krupp.
