Overview
Amapola Overview
This delightful urban garden eatery features an international steak and seafood menu. Engaging owner Yasutoshi Sakai personally prepares Japanese Kobe beef, the house speciality. The thin, creamy fat-marbled steak bursts with rich flavours and comes with ponzu and soya-sesame dips and sea salt. For starters, try deep-fried calamari, crunchy and light, and parma ham with grissini. For mains other than Kobe, consider baked snapper or lobster thermidor, in a creamy butter sauce with hints of cheese. Grilled miso beef tenderloin is delicious, as are the lamb chops. Vegetarians need not despair: ratatouille, vegetarian pizza and baked eggplant and tofu in spicy miso are tasty alternatives. Close with berry soup with vanilla ice cream or New York cheesecake in the garden.
