The Khun Kon or Tat Mok Waterfall is the highest waterfall in Chiang Rai with 70 meters in height. Surrounded by lush forest, it’s not only the most beautiful waterfall in the province but also a perfect hiking spot. Reach there by highway no.1211 from Chiang Rai City. Turn right at 18th kilometer and continue for another 12 kilometers. Alternatively, you can drive on highway no.1 (Chiang Rai- Phayao) for approximately 15 kilometers before turning right and continue on for another 17 kilometers. From the base you need to trek for 30 minutes to reach the waterfall, which is ideal for adventurous trotters.
Opening hours: Daily 8am-5pm
can be reached by taking Highway No.1211 from town. After 18 kilometres, turn right and proceed on for another 12 kilometres. Or go along Highway No. 1 (Chiang Rai-Phayao) for about 15 kilometres where there is a right turn to proceed further another 17 kilometres, then a 30-minute walk to the waterfall.
