Khao Pathawi, in Tambon Taluk Du, is a small mountain range 750 meters long that rises to a height of 253 meters. Jagged rocks of different heights stand high and steep to the top of the mountain. The ground in front of the mountain is shaded by trees, where monkeys are often spotted playing. Surrounding the mountain are approximately 30 caves, large and small, such as Tham Prathun, Tham Bandai, Tham Ang, Tham Phutthaprawat (Lord Buddha’s Biography), Tham Pla (Fish Cave), and Tham Khangkhao (Bat Cave). Stone tools and pre-historic human skeletons have also been uncovered in the area.
Khao Pathawi is open to visitors from 6.00 am-7.00 pm daily.
