Amphoe Banphot Phisai, Nakhon Sawan
The foothills of Khao No-KhaoKaeolimestone mountain is also the site of a temple, known as WatKhao No. Monkeys play at the foot of the mountain, and at dusk, resident bats swarm out of the cave, blotting out parts of the darkening sky. A climb up the stairway leads visitors to a cave at the peak with a seated Buddha image in front. In addition, the mountain is the site of a monument built to commemorate King Rama V’s overnight stay during a visit here via the Ping River.
The Khao No-KhaoKaeomountain is located beside the Asian Highway, along the NakhonSawan-KamphaengPhet section in Tambon Ban Khaen. It is approximately 45 kilometers from the city and 18 kilometers from the district center.
The temple is open daily from 8.00 am-5.00 pm. For more information, call 0 5651 4982.
