Attraction Details

Bueng Khong Long is an 8,064-rai reservoir with its water origin from Phu Wua and Phu Langka. In 1980, His Majesty the King initiated a project of reservoir for local agriculture, in which two years later it was announced to be the Bueng Khong Long Non-Hunting area and registered as the World’s Wetland of International Importance number 1,098 in 2001. The place is a habitat of various aquatic animals and plants like the rare Mekong Bumblebee Goby as well as migrating birds during winter like the plumed egret, tailed jacana and the lesser whistling duck.

Getting there: From Bueng Kan town, follow highway No.222, make a turn to Highway No. 2306 passing Amphoe Seka and Bueng Khong Long will be on the left.
